What is the 10th Player Foundation?
The 10th Player Foundation emerged from a young man named, Clayton Crump. Clayton was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 16 who was a baseball player. At the time of his diagnosis, it was in his right knee which had to be amputated and he had a 70% survival rate. And we wanted to find a way to help him feel like a kid again. This is what makes the 10th Player Foundation special, we were not created to send money to research, we began as a way to help families financially and lend a helping hand as well as lift the spirits of those families like Clayton’s. 10th Player Foundation is a registered 501(c)3.
Why 10th Player?
Clayton is the inspiration behind the 10th Player Foundation. Clayton was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 16 who was a baseball player whose right leg was amputated due to this terrible disease. Players and families wanted to find a way to make Clayton still feel apart of the team — little did they know — this mission was bigger than Clayton.
